Significance of reducing speech

In the name of Allah the Most Beneficient the Most Merciful. Surely Allah is in control of the heavens and the earth and everything that we know and do.

We look at an everyday example. No offence to women with this example please. A young lady meets the man of her dreams. She decides to tell a best friend about him and what she plans on doing. A forth person hears about it through whatever means and speaks about it in an envious and show off manner. This creates a negative effect. The hopes and plans of the young lady is then disturbed by the man choosing someone else. Her speech was innoccent? The young lady then questions?

This type of situation we have seen all too often. But can we base the cause of this on speaking too much? Can too much unneccesary speech causes negative as well as positive effects?

This is a theory from experience and learning. Speaking too much about something causes the object that is spoken about to be affected in a way. The object can either be affected positively or negatively through speaking about it without the object even being physically present or hearing the speech through whatever means (telecommunications or new media). The effect of speech about the object (negative or positive) can transcend time as well i.e. the object can be affected by the speech in the past present and future by some sort of recorded means. If we rationally look at this it seems like a total impossiblity. We will have to provide logical proofs for this using the Quran and sunnah and various islamic scholar texts as a basis, as well as a few rational and scientific proofs.

Before we examine some examples we have to add that the basis for this theory would definetely be from the cause and effect theory, every action has a reaction, all in balance and harmony. If we examine simple hadeeth about the effects of rememberence of Allah as follows:
"And from the ahaadeeth, on the authority of Abu Hurayrah (radyAllaahu ‘anhu), the Messenger of Allaah (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said that Allaah said: “Indeed I am as My servant presumes me to be. And I am with him when He remembers me, so if he remembers Me to himself then I remember him to Myself. And if he remembers Me amongst a company I remember him amongst a company greater than it and if he draws close to Me a span of a hand I draw near to him the span of an arm. And if he draws near Me the span of an arm, I draw near him the span of two outstretched arms. And if he takes a step towards Me, I quickly step towards him.” [Al-BukhareeFrom the and Muslim]"
In the Quraan Allah says:
"Therefore remember me, I will remember you and be grateful to me and do not reject faith.” [Surah Al-Baqarah: 152]"

We find that showing off in speaking good has the opposite effect
