Allah Helps Him Who Helps His Brother

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, Allah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment. He who makes easy what is difficult, Allah will make it easy for him in the world and the Hereafter. He who conceals the faults of a Muslim, Allah will conceal his faults in the world and the Hereafter. Allah helps the servant so long as he helps his brother. He who travels a path in search of knowledge, Allah will make easy a path to Paradise. A people do not gather together in the houses of Allah, reciting the Book of Allah and studying together, except that tranquility will descend upon them, mercy will cover them, angels will surround them, and Allah will mention them to those with Him. And he who is slow to good deeds will not be hastened by his lineage

[Sahih Muslim, Book 35, Number 6518]

The hadeeth / hadeeths relayed in thr talk was extracted from the 40 hadeeth compilation of Imam Nawawi

What is the most authentic English and Arabic publication of the 40 hadeeth of Imam Nawawi I can use as a reference

Do the hadeeth in this collection appear in other collections of hadeeth e.g. Sahib al Bukhari or Imam Nawawi's orher collection the Riyadh as Saliheen

Is there a sharh available explaining the hadeeth mentioned in the talk in more detail?

1. Yes that was hadith number 36. Of the huge number of commentaries on Imam Nawawi's 40 hadith, we generally consulted ibn Rajab's during our student days in Makkah. It turns out to be, according to some, the best commentary. Shaykh Mahdi read ibn Hajr's commentary during his Monday evening classes back then and its the commentary the older murids are familiar with.
2. There is a whole genre of books called "40 hadith" books. The reason why a huge number of scholars attempted to write 40 hadith collectios is because of a weak hadith which states, "A person who memorises 40 hadith will be raised on the Day of Judgement as a scholar". Though weak the early scholars interestingly took this quite seriously and started writing "40 Hadith" books starting with Imam Abdullah ibn Mubarak in the 3rd century AH. His book was followed by a large numder of "40 Hadith" collections compiled by different scholars. Then in the 7th Century AH, Imam Nawawi wrote his version of 40 Hadith.
3. Imam Nawawi references all the hadith. If its narrated by Imam Bukhari he mentions that the end of the hadith. The purpose of his 40th hadith was to provide the basic principles every Muslim should know, understand, and master. The many other 40 hadith collections focussed on other topics like the 40 hadith collection attributed ( I have my doubts about the athenticity of this work ) to Imam Harawi that deals with tauhid only.
4. There are quite a few translations out there with commentary, none seem to saitsfy me except the original Arab works of ibn Rajab and ibn Hajr and so forth. That basic translation handed out during Hajj in Saudi Arabia leaves out the important introduction written by Imam Nawawi for some reason. I have trust issues with Saudi translations of classic works. A few of those seem excessively tampered with to be honest. So use those at your own risk. The numbering and basic translation of the 40 ( 42 to be exact, then later 50 after ibn Rajab added 8  ) hadith seems okay.
